After Nippon Sharyo, Ltd. delivered gallery type bi-level passenger railcars to the San Francisco area in the United States, it began delivering many similar cars to the Chicago area as well.
Nippon Sharyo’s gallery type passenger railcars are being delivered steadily for Virginia Railway Express (VRE) track extending south from the nation’s capital, Washington D.C. It is forecast that in the near future VRE’s entire passenger fleet will be gallery type cars manufactured by Nippon Sharyo.
