Rail Transit: Dubai Metro

Dubai Metro project

The Dubai Metro project in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, is a typical example of Rail Transit systems.

The Dubai Metro was developed to alleviate traffic congestion in Dubai by providing an alternative safe and reliable means of transportation. This was successfully achieved with two lines, the Red Line and the Green Line, running through the city center and connecting the airport area with industrial and tourist areas.

The two lines, almost 75 km long, make up the longest driverless, fully automated urban transportation system in the world.
MHI has integrated sub-systems, such as those for vehicles and signaling, to produce a complete rail transit system. The company continues to provide maintenance to its systems after handover to the customer.

APM: Changi APM (Sky Train)

The Singapore Changi International Airport Skytrain system is a good example of an Automated People Mover (APM) system. An APM is a driverless transit system, usually used in airports and in towns.

Changi International Airport Skytrain

Skytrain connects the three terminals of Changi Airport with seven shuttles. It is comfortable and secure, and has an innovative, aesthetically pleasing design. By providing operation and maintenance service successfully for years in one of the busiest airports in the world, MHI contributes to Changi International's reputation as a world-class airport.
