An etude of red and blue

Series 253 EMU of JR East was originally deployed for airport shuttle service between Narita Airport and major stations in Tokyo metropolitan area; but, today only two sets remained are used for tourist trains connecting Shinjuku and Nikko area.
Dressed up with the new livery of vermillion red hinted by the shrines and temples in Nikko, limited express “Kinugawa” was set off against shiny high-rise buildings and the blue sky in early spring.
